Bay Area Soccer Shots - a service provided by private coaches that is an acclaimed national, non-competitive program offered to children 2-8 at centers, schools, and parks throughout the local community. Soccer Shots instructors are experienced, energetic and enthusiastic, with many serving as career coaches, early childhood educators and collegiate athletes. They not only teach soccer skills, but work on improving balance, coordination and confidence. Soccer Shots also uses the sessions to focus on social and character development, as the curriculum highlights values like teamwork, sharing and respect (www.soccershots.org).
Kid Power – a service provided by private coaches through Bay Area’s Wushu Center – Summer only. Children face challenging situations every day at home, at school, online, and in their communities. Sometimes, adults are aware of these issues. Often, they are not. Kidpower teaches children positive, practical, and effective ways to think, move, and speak to stay safe in challenging personal safety situations. Working with children and trying to see the world through their eyes informs everything we do (www.kidpower.org).
Theatre – an onsite summer program that teaches children beginning concepts of being on a stage. Included in this program are the following:
