Preschool
2 YRs. - 4 YRS.
Neighborhood Christian Preschool follows a child-led, play-based curriculum that encourages children to explore, create, and learn through meaningful experiences—both independently and in collaboration with their classmates.
Our teachers observe each child’s interests and developmental needs, using them to shape daily lessons and classroom experiences. This individualized approach creates an engaging learning environment where curiosity thrives and every child is empowered to grow at their own pace.
Children build foundational skills across early academics and social-emotional development. Through age-appropriate activities, they explore math (counting, sorting, and one-to-one correspondence), calendar routines, pre-writing, music, movement, storytelling, and art. They are also encouraged to express their thoughts and feelings, which supports language development, confidence, and relationship-building.
In our Preschool classrooms, teachers guide students in solving problems, sharing, taking turns, and working through emotions with gentle support. The team embraces the motto, “The more we get together, the happier we’ll be,” reflecting our belief that relationships and community are central to early learning.
Beyond academics, we strive to provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels accepted, respected, and deeply cared for. Teachers partner closely with families to ensure each child is seen and supported. Open communication with parents is a key part of our approach.
Faith is gently woven into our day through Bible stories, prayer, and worship, helping children grow in their understanding of God’s love and how to care for others with kindness and respect.
Our classrooms are thoughtfully arranged and filled with engaging materials that inspire discovery and creativity. Children have access to a wide variety of learning tools—magnets, manipulatives, blocks, puzzles, cars, musical instruments, playdough, and more.
A typical day in our Preschool Program begins with the Pledge of Allegiance, worship songs, and prayer, followed by Circle Time. Children enjoy a healthy morning snack, indoor free play, and outdoor recess. After lunch, they rest during nap time, followed by an afternoon snack and more outdoor play to end the day.
