Infants

6 Weeks to 24 months

At Neighborhood Christian Preschool, we believe that the earliest years are full of wonder, learning, and connection. That’s why our Infant Program is rooted in play and relationship-building—the foundation of healthy development.

While some may see a costume, we see imagination taking flight through dramatic play. A simple scribble is much more than a mark on paper—it’s a child developing fine motor skills, learning colors, and expressing their unique creativity. These moments are why we embrace a play-based curriculum that allows each child to learn at their own pace and in their own way.

Infants are encouraged to explore through music and movement, sensory activities, toy manipulation, and early pretend play. We support the development of both gross and fine motor skills, while nurturing curiosity and discovery in a safe, joyful environment.

At the heart of our program is our commitment to spiritual growth. Even our youngest learners are introduced to God’s love through Bible storytelling, helping them begin to understand that they are cherished children of God.

We place special emphasis on social development. Infants learn about relationships through modeled behavior, which is why our teachers create classrooms filled with warmth, care, and attentive listening. In this environment, children begin to practice sharing, communicating, and connecting with others.

We also value strong partnerships with families. Our teachers work closely with parents to provide individualized care, ensuring every child feels known, loved, and supported from the very start.

Our NCP team holds your child’s safety as a top priority. In addition to creating a peaceful and nurturing learning  environment, our classrooms are also safe spaces that take the children’s needs into consideration. Our teachers ensure that children get a restful nap time, are fed and diapered as needed, and get outside time as weather permits. Our teachers offer love and snuggles to the children that help strengthen their relationships. Afterall, if a child’s and physical needs are met, their capacity to learn is so much greater.

A typical Infant day will include activity time, feeding time, nap time, and of course lots of play time.

The teachers in the Infant programs are special people that are driven to create a loving, safe, and nurturing environment for all the children. They truly believe that, “there’s a big GOD, who loves us and is always there for us when we need Him”.

As the children finish their time in these classrooms, they’ll be leaving with life-skills that will carry through the rest of their life. Through play and exploration, we will support them walking, talking, self-feeding, and more.
