Sunshine, Swimsuits, and Our Favorite Tuesday Tradition
Right in the middle of our playground sits one of our children's favorite surprises: a poured foam surface with tiny holes built just for water play. Every Tuesday morning, our children arrive at school already dressed in their swim gear, giggling with excitement because they know exactly what is coming.
Once the sun warms the playground, usually around 9 or 10 in the morning, water begins to shoot straight up through the ground. Our children grab their buckets and toys and run straight for the spray. They fill containers, chase the streams of water, and call out to their friends to come join the fun. Teachers walk alongside them the whole time, ready with towels and cheering them on, making sure every child feels safe in the splashing.
When playtime winds down, our children dry off and change back into their regular clothes so they are ready for the rest of their day. Many of them stretch out on their towels in the sunshine for a few quiet minutes before heading back inside, chatting with friends about their favorite part of the morning.
Moments like this are why families choose NCP. Sharing a bucket, waiting for a turn at the spray, and calling a friend over to play teach the same small lessons in patience and kindness that our children practice indoors.
