Why We Take It Slow During the First Weeks of School
The first few weeks of a new school year at NCP are all about getting to know each other. Many of our children move into a new classroom with a new teacher and new classmates, so everything from the daily schedule to the rules feels different for a while.
We give our children real time to learn these new routines. That means room for a few mistakes along the way and a gentle hand guiding them back on track at a pace that feels right for them.
This patient start builds trust. When our children know what to expect and feel safe with their teacher, they settle in with confidence, and that confidence carries them through the rest of the year. Taking the time now is how we help our children feel secure at NCP from the very first weeks.
